Art Sale Slideshow Graphic

It has been barely two months since my last African Art Show and Sale event.  But, here we go again, this time with a new collection of artifacts not seen before in Durham! That's right. The African Art Sale is going to be in downtown Durham for the second time this year with a very special show and sale for collectors, decorators, and spectators! Things kick off on Friday evening, November 16th and continue Saturday and Sunday. It coincides with  Third Friday Durham and Durham Art Walk to cover the whole weekend rain or shine. It's indoors!  Please help spread the word.

African Art Sale 2007
212 West Main Street***, Suite 100, Durham, NC

Friday, November 16th, 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Saturday, November 17th, 10:00am - 5:00pm
Sunday, November 18th, 1:00pm - 5:00pm

If you have been to previous events, you have met Hamidou Cham, an artifact trader from The Gambia. Hamidou travels all around West Africa purchasing artifacts from experienced craftspeople and local collectors. If not you can get an idea of what he brings by going to the African Art Sale Slideshow.  His collections are spectacular.  Now he is just back in Durham for a second time after this year's trip to West Africa where he spent weeks traveling and collecting.  He is bringing items not seen here before and certainly different from the September presentation. You will find just the thing you need for that special place in your home.

Furniture, Sculpture (bronze and wood), Masks, Fabrics, Beads, Jewelry, Ceremonial Artifacts, Instruments, and much more, mostly from The Gambia, Cameroon, Mali, Zaire, Nigeria, and Ghana. There are usually a few pieces from elsewhere in the other side of the Continent as well.

Come early for the best selections.  Prices range from as little as $25.00 up to $800.00 or more for some rare items. Cash or check only. We are not equipped to handle plastic.

See you at the event! If you know others who might enjoy it, please give them a call or forward this info directly to them. The more the merrier. As for you, come even if you don't need another thing in your collection. Just come and say hello. And while you are downtown, take advantage of the other events going on during Third Friday Durham and Durham Art Walk.

As always I will have some of my own work on display and for sale. This time I am featuring some brand new photographic works and some older pieces as well. This may be the last time before some of them are retired.

        Peace and Love
